R10 slip rating
The R scale measures grip on an inclined, oiled surface. R10 is our standard across all floor series.
The R rating comes from a ramp test: a tester walks on an oiled, inclined sample until slipping begins. R9 tolerates the shallowest angle, R10 a steeper one. The higher the number, the more grip under contamination such as water or oil.
In practice, R9 suits dry interiors such as showrooms and offices. R10 suits hotel bathrooms, mall entries, pool surrounds and commercial kitchens, where water on the floor is routine rather than exceptional.
Every Icona Casa floor series is rated R10. The test report is supplied per series with the quote, so the rating follows the shade you actually receive rather than a generic certificate.
