Mitred edge
Two 45-degree cuts joined to form a 90-degree corner, giving slab countertops and walls a full-thickness look.
A mitred edge is produced by cutting the slab at 45 degrees on two faces and bonding them at the corner. The visible edge shows the same surface pattern as the face, so the top reads as a solid 20mm block even though the panel is 6mm.
This is the standard detail for waterfall islands, reception desks and vanity fronts in slab work. It requires the fabrication guide: cut angle, adhesive and reinforcement are specified per thickness.
Mitres are confirmed against the matched guide before order, not improvised on site. Cut-outs for basins and hobs follow the same document.
